The SUN5000-150K-MG0 is a high-performance, solar grid tie inverter designed for commercial and industrial PV systems of medium size. It is based on the concept of full optimization and requires MERC’s PV optimizer on each module, increasing performance, ensuring safety and minimizing installation and operation effort. With an impressive output of 165 kVA and an MPPT range of 200-1000V, it offers high yields, protection against hazards and operational safety.
Huawei’s leading power distribution technology continuously monitors the status of the PV system and provides real-time diagnostics and site logs via AC MBUS. Intelligent reactive power compensation adjustment ensures dynamic maintenance of the power factor, avoiding grid disadvantages.
The SUN5000 supports the SAFEROOF label (PV + OPTIMIZER), which prescribes the use of optimizers to increase safety. It features Rapid Shutdown (RSD), which reduces the output voltage to below 30 V within 30 seconds and is automatically triggered by AFCI-capable arc fault detection. Module-level insulation detection increases fault location accuracy by six times and reduces fault clearing time by 30 minutes per incident, making it the preferred choice for commercial solar installations.
Thanks to its compact dimensions of 1000 x 710 x 395 mm and a weight of ≤100 kg, the inverter is easy to install by two to three people.

MBUS networking
A maximum of 80 SUN2000 units can be cascaded with the SmartLogger and up to 10 SUN2000 units can be cascaded with the dongle.
When using MBUS for communication, it is recommended to use multi-core cables with a maximum communication distance of 1000 meters. If you want to use other types of AC cables, please contact your local technical support.
Compatibility of intelligent PV inverters
The Huawei Solar Grid Tie Inverter SUN2000-150K-MG0 is compatible with MERCS Smart Module Controllers ( MERC-1100W-P & MERC-1300W-P)
It is possible to connect up to 240 optimizers to one inverter. The maximum cable length between the last optimizer and the inverter is 350 meters.
